Reece Carlton Henderson, 65, of New Albany, Indiana was called home on Thursday, July 30, 2015. He was born on March 13, 1950 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to John Iverson and Annie Ruth (Rivers) Henderson. Reece worked in construction for a steel company in Clarksville, Indiana for many years. He was a member of Greater Salem Baptist Church in Louisville,Kentucky, Reece also was a member of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he was a member of the choir and a soloist, a Navy veteran, loved to play all sports, a chef at Churchill Downs. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his parents Reece was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Lollis, and granddaughter, Jasmyn Epes. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Ollie (Smith) Henderson; loving children, Alecia Harshaw, James Glenn (Arla’na), Maurice Williams (Dianne), Bertram Mullins; siblings, Oscar Page Jr., Abron “Al” Henderson (Bobbie), Phyllis Allgood, Pamela Rice, Fostina Smith (Larry); four grandchildren, Brionna, Brandelyn, Maurice Jr., Jame’.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 5:30 to 6 PM at Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church (1912 5th Ave, Knoxville,Tennessee 37917) with service to follow at 6PM. Burial will be on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 9:30AM at Tennessee Veterans Cemetery “John Sevier” in Knoxville, Tennessee.
