It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Zev Kenneth Eckhardt, a man whose life was defined by selflessness, unwavering dedication, and a heart full of love. Born on July 15, 2000, in Littleton, Colorado, Zev's journey, though tragically brief, was marked by immense generosity, a joyful spirit, and an unbreakable love for his family.
Zev was an extremely hard worker and a fantastic provider, devoting his talents and time to both UPS and Spectrum. More than just his professional achievements, he was known for his willingness to help others—always ready to fix computers and cars for anyone in need. His selflessness extended beyond his work; he carried a smile on his face and a laugh that could brighten the darkest days. His patriotic spirit and dedication to family were cornerstones of his character, making him a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
His love for life was reflected in his hobbies and interests. Zev found joy in fishing, capturing moments through photography, and was captivated by anything related to fireworks—a testament to his awe of the beauty and excitement in the world around him. His high school years were spent growing and learning; he attended Louisville Male High School, where he was an active member of the JROTC Program, and proudly graduated from Fairdale High School in 2019.
Zev’s family was the center of his world. He shared a loving marriage with his wife, Loren Eckhardt, and was a devoted father to his children, Evie, Ezra, and Maverick. His mother, Brittney Sharber, and father, Scott (Jen) Eckhardt, along with his sisters Raelin Eckhardt and Taylor Owens, survive him. He was cherished by his papaw, Paul Sharber, and grandparents, Ken and Marie Eckhardt, as well as Linda (David) Peak (Linda) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and in-laws who now carry his memory deeply in their hearts.
The community will remember Zev not only for his generosity but for the warmth and laughter he brought into every room. He was a beacon of kindness and strength, and his absence leaves a void that words can scarcely express.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville, located at 10304 Dixie Hwy in Louisville, KY 40272. This will be followed by a memorial service at 5:00 PM at the same location. These gatherings will offer all who knew Zev an opportunity to honor his memory, share stories, and find comfort in each other’s presence.
Zev Kenneth Eckhardt’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, laughter, and selfless acts. Though he has left this world, the impact of his spirit remains indelible. He will forever be remembered as a great father and husband, a loyal friend, and a patriot who loved his family deeply and without reservation.
May we all find strength in his legacy and solace in the memories he gave us, holding onto the lessons of kindness, dedication, and joy that he exemplified every day. Rest in peace, Zev. You are deeply missed and eternally loved.
