Yvonne Witherspoon

Yvonne Slaughter Witherspoon, age 78, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016. She was a graduate of Brownsville High School, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Maggie Lindsey Slaughter; son, Charles Alan Witherspoon; and sister, Georgia Houchin.

Yvonne is survived by her loving children, David Bradley (Lori) and John Christopher Witherspoon (Shannon); and niece, Mary Ann Scott (George); and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 10-11am on Thursday, August 4, 2016, follow by funeral ceremony at 11am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. Burial will be 3pm EDT/2pm CDT at Fairview Cemetery in Brownsville, Kentucky.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
