Winnie D. Pierce, 77, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, March 3, 2017 at Norton Audubon Hospital. She was born in Grayson County, Kentucky on October 27, 1939 to the late Arvil and Vera Sego. She was a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church formerly of St. Polycarp Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, James Harry Pierce; siblings, Carmel Sego, Bernetta Pierce and Wendall Sego; and a grandson, Kyle T. Abell.
Winnie is survived by her children, James M. Pierce, Billy Pierce, Marsha G. Abell(Mark T. Abell Sr.) and Kevin R. Pierce; grandchildren, Mark T. Abell, Jr. (Whitney), Alisa S. Pierce and Dylan R. Pierce; and a host of other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
