Wilma Bernice (Bright) Mcdonner

Wilma Bernice (Bright) McDonner, 90, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. She was a member of the VFW Post 1693 Ladies Auxiliary and the Tri County Shrine Club Ladies Auxiliary. Wilma was a former member of Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany and had enjoyed ballroom dancing.

She was born on February 3, 1927, in New Albany, Indiana, to the late Leo and Nancy (Austin) Bright. Wilma was also preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Wingate, Norma Steinburgen, Gloria Booker, Ruth Ann Haas, and William "Bud" Bright.

Wilma is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 72 years, Orville McDonner; children, Barbara Rogers (John), Charles McDonner, Sr. (Patricia), Orvilla Yerdon (Linley, Sr.), and Orville Ray McDonner (Judy); brothers, Merrill, Bob, and Melvin Bright; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Graveside Service will take place at 12:00 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky.
