Willie J. James, Jr., 76, passed away on April 19, 2021. He entered into this world on February 7, 1945, to the late Willie J. and LuEthel James, Sr in Cary, MS. At an early age his family moved to Fort Wayne, IN. Willie was a Marine veteran and served in the Vietnam War from 1963-1967. He met his wife Carolyn of 41 years in Nashville, TN where they married in 1980 and later moved to Louisville, KY where he retired after 20 years at Phillip Morris.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Barbara Jackson and his brother, Truman James.
Willie leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Carolyn; children, LaDovric Brown, Sr, Donee Brown, twins, LaDovric Brown, Jr and LaNasia Brown, Anthony Means, Jeffrey Green, Sr, Tracey Bowers, Crystal, Jermaine and Jamont; grandchildren, Antonio (Elnisha) Sublett, Jeffrey Moore, Jr, Sha'Quisha Moore, Jarell Moore, LaVari Brown, Amaiya Bowers and AJ Bowers; cherished great-grandson, Prince; beloved brothers, Ernest Griffin, Robert (Alice) James; beloved sister, Lois James; nephew, Tyrone (Nicole) Jackson; niece, Anita "Squeaky" Barbee and a host of grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 11am-1pm with a celebration of Willie's life beginning at 1pm.
