William Richard Hankins III, 65, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Friday, May 13, 2016. He was born in Evansville, Indiana on October 9, 1950 to the late William and Dorothy Hankins. He was a graduate of PRP High School and a member of Evangel World Prayer Center. He was retired from Ford with over 37 years of service.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his daughter, Brandy Hankins Cotton.
William is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Rebecca Hankins; a son, William Richard (Amie) Hankins, IV; a son-in-law, Ruben Gomez; grandchildren, Ryan, Alex, Grace, William and Parker; four siblings, Cathy (Tim) Barnard, Peggy (Danny) Leahy, Steve (Brenda) Hankins, and Andy (Felicia) Hankins; and a host of other family members and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be conducted Monday, May 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 on Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are requested to WHAS Crusade for Children or American Cancer Society.
