William Rodney Reeves

October 8, 1941 — January 20, 2022

William Rodney "Ron" Reeves, 80, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 20, 2022 surrounded by his family.

He was born on October 8, 1941 in Packsville, Kentucky to the late Elbert and Isabelle (Fraley) Reeves. He is also preceded in death by his sister Debbie Morgan.

Ron grew up in the mountains of West Virginia and moved to Chicago at the age of 18. He started work at Sunset Foods as a bagger and retired from the store 45 years later as an assistant manager. He served as a volunteer firefighter for many years on the Highwood Fire Department. Ron enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, betting on the horses at the racetrack, working in the garden and hanging out with his buddies at the Silver Dollar. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Judy Reeves, son, Ron (Lisa) Reeves, grandchildren, Kate, Mark, Luke, Sam, siblings Jaynie Reeves, Kaye Risk (Richard), Gary Reeves (Brenda), Deanna Mooney (John), Nickie Reeves (Dian) and Terry Reeves (Marsha). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many other friends who knew and loved him.

Ron retired to Kentucky 17 years ago where he worked part time at Kroger but spent most of the time spoiling his 4 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held to celebrate Ron's life from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Willowgate Subdivision Clubhouse: 1311 Blackthorn Road, Louisville, KY 40299.
