William L. O'Bryan, 88, of New Albany, Indiana, died on January 4, 2017. Bill was a native of Springfield, Kentucky, and grew up in Louisville. He also lived in Henderson, Kentucky, and moved to New Albany about 40 years ago. Bill was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany and was a Third and Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus. He was a retired Claims Manager of Westfield Insurance Company and the General Adjustment Bureau and past President of Louisville Claims Managers Council.
He was the son of John Robert and Mary Louise (Ryan) O'Bryan. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, a sister, and one grandchild, Mitchell.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rosemary (Heuke) O'Bryan; daughters, Mary Karen Bradford (Jerry) of Greenwood, Indiana, and Patricia Anne Phillips (Rex) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; sons, William Dennis (Patricia) of Memphis, Tennessee, Glenn Alan (Lynn) of Edwardsville, Illinois, Lawrence Robert (Nancy) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Stephen Joseph (Cathy) of Edgewood, Kentucky, and Timothy Charles (Karen) of Peoria, Illinois; plus 23 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 8, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana 47150) with the Rosary being prayed at 5:30 p.m. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 9, 2017, at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in New Albany with burial to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
