William Donald "Don" Mudd, 78, passed away on April 6, 2018. He retired from Reynolds/Alcoa as a machinist, belonged to the Valley Chapter of Eastern Star and was a Mason at the Shawnee Lodge 830. Don could make and build anything with his hands, loved gardening and was an avid history buff. He never met a stranger and was a strong man with a gentle soul. Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother who cherished his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Myrtle Mudd and his grandson, Dennis Kane, Jr.
Don is survived by his loving wife, Kay Mudd; children, Rickey Mudd, Donna (Jim) Hendrickson, Tanya (Richard) Wise, Marie (Ralph) Beavers, Nick Mudd and Lance (Missy) Mudd; grandchildren, Samantha, Jimmy (Derek), Michael, Brittany, William "Chase", Kyler, Madison, Dayton, Jordan, Jessie and one on the way; great-grandchildren, Dallas, Oaklynn, Hagan and Ruger; brother, Bob (Phyllis) Daughtery and his cat, Rommel.
Visitation will be Monday, April 9, 2018, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY from 1pm-8pm. A celebration of Don's life will be Tuesday, April 10, 2018, beginning at 11am at the chapel of the funeral home.
