William Flood "Hottie" Moore, Sr., age 71 of Louisville, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016. He was formerly employed with the Louisville Housing Authority, was a member of Elk Creek Missionary Baptist Church of Taylorsville where he served as a Trustee and on the Usher Board. He also sang with the Brotherhood Choir there. Hottie was an avid fisherman, loved baseball and softball, a die-hard UofL Fan, and was better known as "Outback" to his CB Club friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur William and Sarah Wooten Moore; two siblings at birth; and granddaughter, Kara Moore.
Hottie is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty J. McCoomer Moore; children, Saundra Trowel (J.B.), William F. Moore, Jr. (Tonya), Karen Moore (Danny) and Kevin Moore (Cassaundra); 16 grandchildren, David, Christopher, Rodney, Whitney, William III, Nakeshia, Jurnee, Kevin, Kandice, JaCori, Courtney, Kierra, Dominique, Tya, Jalen and Kaliah; 18 great-grandchildren, Christian, McKenzie, Camryn, Reagan, Rodney Jr., Daya, August, David Jr., Carde, Amaree, Kynlei, Kalyce, Laila, Trey, Maree, Kiona, Kamora and Jaci; siblings, Lorena Rhea, Sarah Minnis (Albert), Barbara Stone, George Moore (Gloria) and Nancy Montgomery (Chris); many nieces and nephews; and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 3-8pm Thursday, December 29th, and 11-1pm Friday, December 30, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A celebration of Hottie's life will be 1pm at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Middletown Historic Cemetery.
