William L. Peake

William Lawrence "Bill" Peake, 80, of Greenville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 4, 2016. He was an avid fisherman and a veteran of the United States Navy, who proudly served on the U.S.S. New Jersey during the Korean War.

He was born on January 31, 1936, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late William L. and Elizabeth (Cushing) Peake. Bill is survived by his wife, Marilyn M. (Raisle) Peake; children, Dennis M. Peake (Joan), William D. "Bill" Peake, Timothy W. Peake (Pam), Bruce A. Peake (Patty), and Donna M. Knies (Rick); brothers, Robert L. and Kenneth J. Peake; 9 grandchildren; and 7 great-granchildren.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Funeral Service taking place at 3:00 p.m. Cremation will follow according to Bill's wishes. Private burial with military honors will be at a later date at New Albany National Cemetery in New Albany, Indiana.

Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (6100 Dutchmans Lane, Suite 401, Louisville, Kentucky 40205).
