William Joseph Kalbfleisch, age 64 of Louisville, transitioned to his Heavenly Home on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was a graduate of St. X High School and was a court reporter. The last two and a half years he worked for Universal Woods as a machine operator. He was fond to say "You can teach an old dog new tricks!" Bill was an avid sports fan, especially for UofL. He loved the Lord Jesus, was a member of Southeast Christian Church and a member of the Bible Boyz. It was through this love he encouraged so many others to seek the truth. He loved sharing time with friends and family, especially to play Dominos and Farkle. Politically, Bill was engaged in current events and loved these discussions with his friends and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis John and Emma Jean Vowels Kalbfleisch.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Rebecca Schneider Kalbfleisch; daughter, Heather Stray (Brad); granddaughters, Kate and Riley Stray; father and mother-in-law, David and Dorothy Schneider; siblings, Tom Kalbfleisch (Reva), Kathy Lauer (Bob), Debbie Kalbfleisch and Cheryl Kalbfleisch; sisters-in-law, Linda Woosley (Barney), Denise Hyman, Janet Sholty (Tim) and Anita Ellison (Bob); several nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
Visitation will be 3-7pm Saturday, February 20, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown. A celebration of Bill's life will be 3pm Sunday, February 21st in the chapel of Southeast Christian Church, 920 Blankenbaker Parkway.
