William Joseph Book

William Joseph "Bill" Book, 94, of Starlight, Indiana, passed away on January 9, 2016. A lifelong member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Starlight, Indiana, Bill was a long-time farmer in the community and owner of Book's Dairy Farm. He was a United States Army veteran and served in WW II. Bill was a devoted husband and father, and leaves a legacy of a faith-filled family life and strong work ethic.

Bill was born on March 2, 1921, in Starlight, Indiana, to William and Josephine (Missi) Book. Along with his parents Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth B. (Koetter) Book, siblings; Marcella Sprigler, Bernard Book, son-in-law, Patrick "Pat" Timmons, grandson, Robert Wolfe, great-grandson, Kaden Book.. He is survived by his sister, Ginny Sprigler, loving children; James Book (Cheryl), Joann Timmons, Janet Schmelz (James), Judy Book, Jean Wolfe (Randy), William J. Book Jr. (Barb), Joseph Book (Becky), Karen Morin, Elaine Kruer (Robert), Theresa Koopman (Glenn), Donna Bane ( Terrance), 34 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, January 11, 2016, at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10AM on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
