William Ray Gordon, Sr

William "Ray" Gordon, Sr., 89, went home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2017. He was a WWII veteran with the Army Air Corp and he retired from International Harvester. Ray was past Quartermaster of the Okolona VFW Post 8639 and a Mason. He was a lover of music and played the trumpet and keyboard.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Wilma Miller Gordon and parents, Arthur and Mary Gordon.

Ray is survived by his children, Ray (Janis) Gordon, Talena (Bill) Dubberly, Debbie (Donnie) Blake and Denise (Don) Partin; grandchildren, David (Natalie) Gordon, Mark (Jana) Gordon, Billy (Melissa) Dubberly, Kassandra (Kevin) Mills, Shelley (Jeremy) Wooldridge, Joshua Partin and Brett Partin and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Aurora, Brayden, Blake, Macy, Cooper and Mason.

Visitation will be Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY) from 2pm-8pm. A celebration of Ray's life will be Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home beginning at 11am.

Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Garden West, 4400 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY.
