William Henry "Bill" Ezell, 84, of Louisville, KY, passed away on March 15, 2022. Bill was born on April 1, 1937, to Joseph and Bobbie Ezell, Sr. He graduated from Central High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Air Force. Bill was a member of the FOP and a faithful member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. He worked at Henry Vogt and retired after 20 years; he never missed a day nor was he ever late. Bill was a mild mannered and easy going man. His last conversation was "you die young or you grow old." When you mentioned a birthday to him he would reply, "you have one birthday, one death and anything in between is an anniversary." Bill was loyal to all he met.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert F. Ezell, Joseph T. Ezell and Joe Kittrell; sisters, Dorothy Ezell Booker, Addie A. Ezell and Emma Kittrell Withers; nephews, Tony Ezell, Don Ezell and Michael Ezell and nieces, Shirese Moore and Cheyenn Ezell.
Bill is survived by his wife, Shelia Ezell; sons, William (Janet) Tyrone Ezell and Dashawn Coatley; daughters, Sharon (Rev. Neil) Siler and Barbara (Johnny) McMichael; grandchildren, Kristen Siler Manley, Johnaton Siler, Tyree Ezell and 5 more; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Danny Ezell and Chris Kittrell; sisters, Joanne Robards, Sharon Kittrell and June Kittrell Mack; sister-in-law, Bessie Ezell; special nephew who cared for him, Reggie Ezell; niece Jean Ezell Thornton; 32 nieces and nephews; 64 great-nieces and nephews; 25 great-great-nieces and nephews and 9 great-great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Friday, March 25, 2022, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, KY, from 11am-1pm with a celebration of Bill's life beginning at 1pm.
