William M. Eaton

July 26, 1930 — August 21, 2020

William Moody Eaton, 90, of Fairdale, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020. He was born on July 26, 1930 in Scottsville, Kentucky to the late James and Bessie Eaton. He proudly served in the Marine Corps and received a Purple Heart Medal for his wounds received as a result of action in the Korean Area on April 15, 1952. He retired from Eastern Airlines in 1986 and enjoyed golfing, watching UK Basketball and spending time with his family. He was an active member of Fairdale Christian Church. He was a devoted husband for 65 years and a loving Father and Pawpaw.

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jean Eaton; siblings, Gladys McBride, James Eaton, John Eaton, Charles Eaton, Jess Eaton, Chester Eaton, Wendell Eaton and Mary Eaton.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Philip W. (Mary) Eaton and Tracy (Michael) Eaton-Hill; grandchildren, Angie Lewis, Phillip W. Eaton, Jr., Nathan Eaton and Andrew Woerner; and 6 great-grandchildren, Zachary Lewis, Ethan Cook, Owen Underwood, Reese Woerner, Nellie Woerner and Tatum Woerner.

A private ceremony to honor William will take place at the Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery where he will receive full military honors and be laid to rest with his wife, Mary Jean.
