William Douglas "Doug" Smith, age 85, of Louisville, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2016. Doug was an Army Veteran and was a retired inventory control specialist and buyer for Celanese. He was a league bowler at Ten Pin Lanes and loved all sports. He loved being on the water and loved animals. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mildred Corbin Smith; and his brother, Larry.

Doug is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Blanche M. Smith; his daughter, Barabara J. Schwiermann (Donald); grandchildren, Tracy R. Schwiermann, Theresa M. Schwiermann (Raymond T. Koense); great-grandchildren, Tuezdae R. Schwiermann; and nephew, Larry L. Linde (Janie) whom he loved as a son; and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 11am-1pm Friday, followed by a memorial celebration of Doug's life at 1pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 235 Juneau Drive in Middletown.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
