William Day Cotter

March 27, 1925 — September 14, 2016

Cotter, William Day "Bill", 91, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on September 14, 2016.

He was born on March 27, 1925, in Elmhurst, Illinois to the late Stewart and Viola Cotter.

Bill was a WWII Veteran, Purple Heart recipient. He received his Bachelors Degree at the Art Institute of Chicago. He then worked as an Art Director and Artist for many years. After his retirement, he moved to Kentucky to be with his family, where he enjoyed painting, sculpting and being at Rough River. Bill also enjoyed a brief acting career in Pine Knob, KY. He was in two plays, "Doc Brown Play" and "Down in Hoodo Holler".

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia "Cindy" Cotter Rausch (Curt) and grandson, Jason Rausch (Janelle "Doc").

A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home East Louisville Chapel (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243). In honor of Bill a graveside service will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery (Central) in Radcliff, KY at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2016.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to VFW Post 3862 (2404 W. St. Louis Ave, Vandalia, IL 62471) or Honor Flight, INC (175 South Tuttle Road, Springfield, OH 45505)
