William H. "Bill" Cooper, Ret. 1st Sgt., 87, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, August 11, 2019.
Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a former employee of Dispenser's Optical, Harley Davidson of Louisville, Cycles Unlimited, Car Guys, and a limo driver. Bill was also a member of Screaming Eagles Motorcycle Club.
He was born on September 9, 1931 in Florence , Alabama to Louis and Lizzy (Poole) Cooper. He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Millven A Cooper.; 3 brothers and a sister.
William is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Angela Cooper, daughter, Elizabeth Cooper, son, William B Cooper, daughter, Leslie Cooper; grandchildren; Cartier Cooper, Nadia Cooper, Donte Cooper, Michael Cooper, Shaquilla Cooper, a brother, Alex Cooper, sister, Otha Lee Ragland; sister in law, Willie B. Cooper; sister in law, Nancy Cooper, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, special friends, and his comrades of the Big Red 1.
Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, at the funeral home. Burial to follow at 2 PM in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, Radcliff, KY.
