William Eugene Brumfield II

William “Buzzy” Eugene Brumfield, II, age 74, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, passed away on June 14, 2026.

Buzzy was born March 26, 1952, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and grew up in Kentucky. He lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a wonderful sense of humor. He was known for his caring nature and his ability to bring laughter and warmth to those around him.

Buzzy had a lifelong love of thoroughbred horses and especially enjoyed spending time at the racetrack. He was an avid UK fan. He was also deeply devoted to his pet cats, whom he cherished and cared for with great affection.

He is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Sheila Shain; his sisters, Phyllis Jean Merlock (David) and Patricia Puckett (Lincoln); and many friends and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

Buzzy will be remembered for his generous spirit, his love of animals, and the joy he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.

A private ceremony will be held to honor and celebrate his life.
