William Brown, Jr.

June 11, 1930 — January 29, 2016

William Brown, Jr., 85, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2016 at the Historic Villages of Silvercrest. He was a member of the 40 & 8 Club, Shriners of Indianapolis, Masonic Lodge #104, and the VFW Post 1693.

He was born on June 11, 1930 in New Albany to the late William, Sr. and Rosetta (Faught) Brown. Bill was also preceded in death by his siblings, Kenneth, Rex, Glen Stearley, Maxine Black, and Helen Mann.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Sandy Jordan (Jack), Shannon Hurst (David); grandchildren, Eric Brown (Michelle), Sheila Reid; great-grandchildren, Dominique Foster, Vanessa Brandenburg, Hunter Byrnes, Sophia Brown, Sebastian Brown; great-great-grandchildren, LaShaun Foster and Carter Byrnes; and special friends, Linda Bunch and Earl Moye.

Visitation will be from 4 PM to 8 PM on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Masonic Service will take place at 11 AM on Thursday in the chapel at the funeral home with private burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.

Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the VFW Post 1693 (1919 Grant Line Road, New Albany, IN 47150) or to the Masonic Lodge #104 (805 E. Market Street, New Albany).
