William "Chris" Blakley, Sr., 57, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018. He had been an employee of GBMC for over 30 years. Chris enjoyed fishing and hunting, as well as riding motorcycles.
He was born on July 19, 1960, in Louisville, Kentucky, to the late William "Bill" and Patricia (Jones) Carte. Chris was also preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Wiggins.
Chris is survived by his children, Chris Blakley, Jr. (Katrina), Brandi Blakley, and Stacy Blakley; siblings, Robert, Patricia, Kimberly, and Ladonna; grandchildren, William III, Krista, Blake-lee, Carson, Trey, Jameson, and Naudica; and nephew, Robert Carte, Jr.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 8, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with his Funeral Service taking place at 1:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville, Indiana.
