William Edward Kaelin, known to all as Bill, 87, of Borden, Indiana, passed away on June 22, 2026.
Born on August 10, 1938, in Louisville, Kentucky, Bill was the son of the late Edward and Mary Frances Kaelin.
Bill enjoyed staying active and spending time at the Clark County YMCA, where he could often be found in the aerobics pool, playing the ukulele, enjoying card games, and participating in a variety of activities.
Earlier in life, Bill enjoyed square dancing, where he met his wife, Phyllis. Their shared enjoyment of dancing later led them to line dancing, which remained a favorite pastime for many years. Along the way, Bill formed many friendships and always appreciated the time spent with others.
Throughout his working years, Bill owned and operated both a vending company and a home remodeling business.
Bill is survived by his wife, Phyllis Lee Kaelin; his daughter, Rebecca Carlton-Mielke (Dwight); his son, Anthony Sohl; his sister, Paula Glover; his brother, Charles Kaelin; nine grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sherri Carlton Flynn; his son, William Kaelin, Jr.; and his son, Robert Kaelin.
Visitation will be held Sunday, June 28 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 29 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation
beginning at 11:00 am.
