William “Bill” Camp Callis, age 65, passed peacefully on September 9, 2026, in the presence of friends and family at Bedford Springs Health and Rehabilitation in Bedford, Kentucky. He was born September 12, 1960, to John Harlan and Janice Camp Callis of Pendleton, KY.
He is survived by his son, Jonathan (Chelsey) Callis; his three beloved grandchildren, Tyler, Benjamin, and Ellen Callis; ex-wife and friend Margaret “Cricket” Callis; his adored bonus children, Toni Hall, Micah Horn, and Keith Morris; four grandchildren, Dylan, Emma, Ethan, Macy; and a great grandson, Emmett. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John Harlan Callis III, and sisters, Susan Callis King and Anne Callis Cailteaux.
Bill’s passion for baseball took him from the field as a Henry County Wildcat to a sports reporter after graduating from Western Kentucky University, including time as a broadcaster for WAVE3. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather and the Cincinnati Reds’ biggest fan.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
