William Daniel "Dan" Becker Jr., age 77, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2019 surrounded by his family at his beloved home. He was born August 21, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late William Daniel Becker Sr. and Martha Mae (Gootee) Becker.
Dan was a conscientious, wise, and fair man that loved and provided for his family. He was a respected string instrument repairman for 45 years and was extremely gifted with his skill. When he retired, in 2017, a void was felt among musicians in Louisville. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf with his good friend, Dan Gilkey.
Dan is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rhonda (Hibdon) Becker; along with four children--William Leonard, Teri, Charles, and Angela; five grandchildren--Misty (Brad), Kaitlan, William, Molly, and Lilly; one great grandson--Elijah; sister Linda, brother Steve and sister Kathy; many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends; and Scott--former husband and good friend of his daughter, Angela.
A Funeral Mass for Dan will be held at 9:30 AM, Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at St. Margaret Mary Church (7813 Shelbyville Road).
The family will greet friends from 2:00 to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Newcomer Funeral Home (235 Juneau Drive).
