Willard A. Ramsey

Willard A. Ramsey, 75, of Corydon, Indiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2021. Willard was a devoted father and husband. He worked for International Harvester and Colgate for many years and did a variety of jobs after his retirement. Willard loved classic cars and trucks. He was committed to working hard from a young age. He learned to work hard and had that work ethic his entire life. He enjoyed his privacy and his home on the hill. Willard was a man of few words, but when he spoke, you wanted to listen to the wisdom he would share.

He was born on August 12, 1945, in Brown County, Indiana, to the late Melvin and Mary (Krush) Ramsey. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Phelps Ramsey; and son, Shannon Ramsey.

Willard is survived by his son, Jeff (Laura) Ramsey; siblings, Jim (Paulette) Ramsey, Daniel (Nancy) Ramsey, Mary Faye Sallee, and Virgil (Wanda) Ramsey; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). A Private Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home.
