Wilhemenia Weatherford Brown (fondly called "Mina" by family and friends) was born to the late Marie Weatherford and Horace Jessup in Louisville, KY, on May 25, 1949. She transitioned to her Heavenly home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 20, 2021.
Mina accepted the Lord as her Savior at a young age at the Greater Shepherd Baptist Church at the 619 East Lampton Street location under the pastorship of Dr. F. Bruce Williams, where she served as a Bible school teacher's helper and later served in the greeter's ministry until her health failed. Mina graduated from Central High School in 1967, and was employed by University of Louisville Hospital where she retired after 30 years.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Eugene Weatherford and sister, Joann Weatherford.
Mina was married to John Brown; although they had no children, they were parents to many of their nieces and nephews.
She leaves to cherish her memories, a devoted great-niece, Meshell Weatherford, who was her caregiver; great-nephews, James Weatherford, Sr and Antwan Boleware; niece, Tammy (Demetrius) Neal; nephew, Troy Weatherford; John Brown, forever in her heart and the Brown family; life-time friends, Emmajean White, William Bradley, Harriett Pennington and Denise Finch and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
