Wilfred Lawrence Kunze Jr., 74, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Wilfred loved baking, fishing, attending and watching NASCAR, and also growing his flowers. He was a master brick Mason and he was a member of the Bricklayer's and Allied Craftsman Local #4 INKY for over 50 years.
Will helped build a variety of museums, and hospitals which includes Human Rights Museum (Winnipeg, Manatoba; Canada), National Indian Museum (Washington, DC) for which his earned two WBC Craftsmanship STAR AWARDS, Holocaust Museum (Washington, DC), Humana Building and white brick on Red Cross building (Louisville, KY), as well as set the stones for the Fort Bragg Hospital (Fort Bragg, NC).
He was born on May 11, 1946 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Wilfred and Lilly Rose (Thameling) Kunze. He is preceded in death by his father, Wilfred L. Kunze, Sr., mother, Lilly Rose Kunze; three sisters and one brother.
Wilfred is survived by his loving Wife of 42 years, Susan B. Kunze; one sister, one brother, three daughters, one son, seven grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews to cherish his loving memory forever.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Celebration of Life Service will be at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with cremation to follow.
The family requests that contributions in Wilfred's memory be made to St. Joseph Children's Home (2823 Frankfort Ave, Louisville, KY 40206) or Crusade for Children.
