Wilbur Robertson Hume, Jr., 83, of Clarksville, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017. He was a proud veteran of The United States Navy who served during the Korean War. Wilbur worked for 14 years for the Clarksville Police Department. He then went on to retire from the Federal Reserve Bank in Louisville, Kentucky.
Wilbur was born on December 24, 1933, in Clarksville, Indiana, to the late Wilbur, Sr., and Virginia (Mayfield) Hume. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Connie (Morrical) Hume; son, Douglas Hume; brothers, Bruce and Theodore Hume; and sister, Joann Swearingen.
Wilbur is survived by his daughters, Denise Nein, Melinda Romans (Gary), and Sherri Meyer (Paul); brothers, Paul (Jessie), Steve, Tim (Meta), Kerry, and Kenny Hume; sister, Diane Springer; grandchilden, Misti Turner (Bobby), Lucas Nein, Micheal Romans, Erica Romans, Steven Meyer (Marisa), and Autumn Meyer; great-grandchildren, Abby Turner, Trevor Nein, Andrew Boyd-Buschermohle, Bennett Meyer, and Quinn Meyer.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2017, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). His Funeral Ceremony will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville, Kentucky.
