Wayne Milton Ulvi was born on January 20, 1954, in Duluth, MN. He was one of six children born to the late Milton Ulvi and Margaret Ulvi. One brother, Mark Ulvi and one half-brother Steve Duncan proceeded him in death.
In his earlier years, Wayne attended and graduated high school in Minnesota. Following graduation he pursued his dream to enlist in the military. He served proudly in the United States Marine Corp, and other branches of the military before his retirement. After retiring, he made a life for himself in Louisville, KY. He began employment and worked for 15 years at Johnson Controls as a production worker. Wayne was also a notable member of Greater Good Hope Baptist Church.
The pride and love he had for his family was unmatched. He spoke proudly of his children and grandchildren, and frequently proclaimed his love for his wife, Emma.
Wayne found pleasure in helping others, but he especially found gratification and took pride in all his wood working projects. He was very lively in voice and personality, never meeting a stranger. He loved to converse with friends and family covering all information missed between conversations. He was reliable in many ways but the family will particularly miss having him around to answer the phones in the house, when no one else would.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 13 years, Emma D., two children, Lindsay Daily (James), Charles Ulvi (Angelea), two step-children, William Murriel Jr. (Pauline), Bridgett Hatcher (Kenneth), nine grandchildren, four siblings Ronald Ulvi, Jane Ulvi, Joyce Kithman, Mabel Brannon (John), and a host of other family and friends.
