Wanda Laverne (Spicer) Newman

Wanda Laverne (Spicer) Newman, 79, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. She was a member of Full Gospel Deliveries Church.

She was born on March 16, 1941, in Jackson, Kentucky, to William and Irene (Hollan) McKinley. In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Newman; son, Jerry Rice; sisters, Alpha Potter, Millie Morris, Lula Johnson, and Alice Collins; and brother, Edward Spicer.

Wanda is survived by her son, Larry Rice (Teresa); sisters, Ruby Little (Gordon) and Lois Neal; grandchildren, Tracy Haydon (Andy), and Kattie and Madison Rice; great-grandchildren, Zack and Aubrey Haydon, and Keagen and Cameron Rice; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with her funeral service taking place at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Louisville.
