Wanda Lee Clark, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on April 11, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 14, 1931, in Rushville, Indiana to the late Howard and Minnie France Sizemore.
Wanda Enjoyed singing, telling stories of her childhood and spending time with her family. She loved her community, where she served on boards and volunteered for over 20 years. She always believed there was no better place than Southwest Dixie Highway where she served as Southwest Jefferson County Historic Landmarks and Preservations Commissioner. Her efforts, along with many others, provided our community with the Southwest Library, historical preservations sites (Farnsley-Moreman Landing) and the Southwest Festival.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, George A. Clark; a daughter, Venia Humphrey; sisters, Marilou Foley and Paula Peters; and a granddaughter, Alex Slay.
Wanda is survived by her children, Grace M Clark (Donna Tyler), Bazel William Clark (Jayne), John David Clark (Donna); grandchildren, Ben Brumback (Amnestie), Derek Clark (Tabatha), Suzanne Adkins (Jacob), Matthew Brumback, Taylor Clark and Brooke Humphrey; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Sherry Slucher (Richard) and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 12-7 on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home with private burial in Bethany Cemetery.
