Wanda L. Darnell

October 23, 1930 — September 15, 2016

Wanda L."MiMi" Darnell, 85, passed away on September 15, 2016. She was a former employee of the Radford Company and retired from Glenn's Commercial Service. Wanda enjoyed traveling, camping and playing cards with friends and family. She was an avid fisherman and loved her gambling trips. Wanda was a loving mother, wife, companion, MiMi, sister-in-law, aunt and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roy B. Downs and Genevieve "Bobie" Bell Downs; husband, William Edward Darnell and granddaughter, Danyal Anetra Conklin Whalen.

Left to cherish Wanda's memories are her life partner, William F. "Bill" Holmes; daughters, Linda Darnell (Fred) Radolovich, Brenda Darnell Cease and Nina Darnell (John) Layer; grandchildren, Scott Conklin, Dione Christian, Stacy Layer (Robby) Singleton and Sara Layer (Jeremy) Ackerman; great-grandchildren, Shaina (Mick), Seth, Davin, Morgan, Natalie and Jace; great-great grandchildren, Isaiah and Anetra and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, September 19, 2016, from 3pm-8pm at Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel (10304 Dixie Highway). A celebration of Wanda's life will begin at 12pm at the chapel of Newcomer Funeral Home SW Chapel.

Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens, 279 Landis Ln, Mt Washington, KY.
