Wanda Louise (Appell) Hasenstab

Wanda Louise (Appell) Hasenstab, age 78, of Georgetown, Indiana, peacefully passed away on September 19, 2026. Born on March 28, 1948, in New Albany, Indiana, Wanda was the beloved daughter of the late Russell and Louberta (Ash) Appell. A proud alumna of Silver Creek High School, class of 1966, she dedicated her career to the Census Bureau. Wanda also cherished her heritage as a Mayflower spouse.

She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 55 years, Lawrence "Mike" Hasenstab; her son, Erich Hasenstab (Melanie); and her cherished grandchildren, Dakota and Jakob Hasenstab. Wanda is also survived by her sisters, Susan Ball, Jackie Appell, Martha Gurtz; and her brother, James Appell (Becky).

Honoring Wanda’s wishes, she was cremated, and her care was entrusted to Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions in New Albany. She will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at Tower Cemetery in Carefree, Indiana.
