Walton Delray Coffey of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on August 22, 2018, with his family by his side. He was the retired co-owner and founder of Coffey's Custom Upholstery. Walton was a member, Sunday School Teacher, and former deacon for over 40 years at Parkway Southern Baptist Church. He was an avid reader and enjoyed playing golf with his boys. He loved being with his grandchildren and his faithful companion, his dog "Baby."
Walton was born on June 10, 1928, in Russell Springs, Kentucky, to the late James and Ella Coffey. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ronney Coffey; and 11 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Frances "Marilyn" (Newton) Coffey; sons, Gary (Cathy), Jim (Pam), and Mark (Tricia); daughter, Lisa Coffey; grandchildren, Brittany (Michael) Ross, Ashleigh (Chad) Brohm, and Grace Coffey; and great-grandchildren, Eliot and Molly Ross and Kinsleigh and Ava Brohm.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2018, at Newcomer-Southern Indiana Chapel. His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with burial to follow at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
