Walter Lee Smith, 65, of Sellersburg, Indiana, passed away on August 15, 2017. He was proud to work as a truck driver at Smiths Transfer in Louisville, Kentucky. Walter was a member of Greater Faith Church in New Albany.
Walter was born on November 1, 1951, in Vinita, Oklahoma, to the late Stephen and Mildred (Johnston) Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Joyce (LaVanchy) Smith; children, Walter Smith and Joy Smith; and 2 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Greater Faith Church (2814 Mt. Tabor Road, New Albany, Indiana). His Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday at the church immediately following visitation. Cremation will follow according to Walter's wishes. His final resting place will be St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Wadesville, Indiana at a later date.
