Walter "Sheldon" Goodson

Walter "Sheldon" Goodson, 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 30, 2025, after bravely battling a long illness. Born on January 12, 1956, in Gastonia, North Carolina, Sheldon was the son of the late Jack and Dolly (Kelly) Goodson.

Sheldon had a long career in HVAC, a testament to his skill and dedication. Outside of work, he was known for his passion for fishing. He also enjoyed the activities of dancing, playing cards, and chess, often sharing laughter and companionship with friends and family.

Family was the most important thing in Sheldon's life and he cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He is survived by his children, Austin Goodson (Adaline) and Macy Goodson (Ahmed), Shawn Goodson, as well as two grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a celebration of Sheldon's life commencing at 4:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest privately at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Jeffersonville.
