Walter Frank Koprowski, Jr., 79, of New Albany, Indiana, passed away on Friday, November 20, 2015. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and his grandchildren.
He was born on June 22, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Walter F. and Mildred F. (Gabriel) Koprowski. Walter was also preceded in death by his wife, Charmaine (Sobol) Koprowski.
Walter is survived by his children, Michael Koprowski (Holly), Reneé Smith (Grant), Diane Koprowski; siblings, Eugene, Delores, Christine; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen following Walter's wishes. Visitation will be from 2 PM to 3 PM on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) with a Memorial Service take place at 3 PM.
Contributions in Walter's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society (701 W. Muhammad Ali Boulevard, Louisville, KY 40203) or to the National Kidney Foundation (8920 Stone Green Way, Suite 100, Louisville, KY 40220).
