Walter “Big Billy” Felker, born Walter Richard Felker, passed away on September 2, 2026, in Glasgow, Kentucky. He was born on June 5, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky.
Walter will be remembered as a man of generous spirit, steady hands, and deep devotion to the people he loved. He loved being outdoors and fishing, and he found great enjoyment in tinkering with anything mechanical. Those who knew him also knew his willingness to help others, as he loved and adored his family and would do anything for anybody.
Throughout his working life, Walter built a reputation through both skill and service. He retired from Yellow Cab in Louisville. He also worked as a motorcycle mechanic at the Hawg Farm, a role well suited to his mechanical talent and lifelong connection to motorcycles. In addition to his work, he was a certified chaplain, reflecting another meaningful dimension of his life and character. He was also a member of the Brothers of the Third Wheel.
Family was at the heart of Walter’s life. He is survived by his son, Allan Stanley; his grandchildren, Kayla Hardin, Stephanie Coleman, and Xander Griffin; and his goddaughter, Crystal Higgins. He held close the bonds of family and took evident pride in the lives of those who carry his memory forward.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Ann Stanley-Felker; his daughter, Della Jean Griffin; his father, George Felker; and his mother, Nina Nelson. Their memories remained an enduring part of his life and legacy.
Walter’s life was marked by hard work, faith, loyalty, and love. He leaves behind the memory of a man who was most at home with family, in the outdoors, and with something mechanical in his hands.
