Walter Lee Eleby, a.k.a "Pumpkin" 70, of Louisville, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021.
He was born on January 11, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late William Sanders and Eva Leola Eleby. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Veronica (Kenny Williams) Eleby.
Walter grew up in a faith based home; he and his siblings were Baptized at New Covenant Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Central High School. After high school, he then went to work for Allied Drums, where he retired as a Foreman after 40 years of dedicated service. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing listening to music and dancing. Walter was known for many things to many people over the years, but he will remembered most of all as a loving father, grandfather and brother.
Walter is survived by loving children, Wandella Hall, Walter T. Hall, Jr., Carmella Hall and their mother, Ceola Hall and daughter, Tia Stover, his grandchildren Tyrone Hall, Tywan Hall, Quashawn Collier, Dej'Asia Hall, and Elizah Wilson, 9 great grandchildren, his siblings, Joseph (Frances) Eleby, Beverly (Chauncey) Blakey, Willie (Debra) Eleby, and James (Carolyn) Eleby and his uncle / best friend, Larry Hill. Walter is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Green Meadows Cemetery.
