Wallace R. Viers Jr., a devoted family man and dedicated professional, peacefully passed away on May 23, 2026, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, with his devoted family by his side. Born on November 20, 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Wallace lived a life marked by hard work, integrity, and unyielding love for those closest to him.
A proud graduate of Jeffersonville High School, Wallace pursued a career as a Pharmacy Technician at Clark Memorial Hospital, where he diligently served the community for many years. Throughout his career, he was respected for his intelligence, honesty, and unwavering commitment to his work, traits that mirrored the steadfastness he showed in every aspect of his life.
Wallace was more than just a professional; he was a loyal husband, loving father, devoted grandfather, brother, and friend. He held an immense pride in watching his family grow and thrive—this was one of his greatest accomplishments and the source of his deepest joy. His heart was truly fullest when surrounded by his loved ones.
In his personal time, Wallace found joy in simple and meaningful pursuits. He delighted in working on Lego projects, exploring his laptop, and especially cherishing moments spent with his grandchildren and wife. These quiet hours reflected the warmth and dedication with which he embraced family life.
Wallace is survived by his son, Scott Allen Viers and daughter-in-law Bridget, who carry forward his legacy; his brothers, Harold Viers (Theresa) and Charles Viers (Cheryl); his sister, Brenda Lyttle (Dean); and his cherished granddaughters, Kaitlyn (married to Chris Reed) and Athena (married to Tyler Mabry). Their love and memories uphold the enduring spirit of Wallace’s life.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara S. Viers, his father Wallace R. Viers Sr., his mother Genevieve Viers, and his sister Diane Viers and his brother-in-law Howard "Dean" Lyttle —dear souls who shaped and inspired the man he became.
Wallace’s journey through life was guided by a heart full of loyalty, kindness, and an earnest work ethic. His presence brought comfort, strength, and love to those who knew him. Though he has departed, the lessons he taught through his actions and the love he gave so freely remain ever alive in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
