Vivian Jeanette Kitterman McCulloch, a beacon of love and selflessness, passed away on October 6, 2024, at the age of 90 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 28, 1934 in Corydon, Indiana, Vivian lived a life that touched the hearts of many through her unwavering dedication and profound kindness. She resided in New Albany, Indiana, for the past 70 years.
Vivian’s career at Baptist Health Floyd stretched over an incredible 44 years, a testament to her commitment and the compassion she held for those she cared for. Colleagues and patients alike recognized her generous spirit and dedicated service, making her not only a valuable co-worker but a cherished friend to many. Known for her remarkable ability to listen and comfort, Vivian truly had a servant's heart, always giving selflessly to those around her.
Her community involvement echoed her passion for helping others; she proudly served as President of the PTO at Green Valley Elementary and Scribner Jr. High School, inspired countless children as a Den Mother for the Boy Scouts, and led young hearts as a Girl Scout Leader. Vivian’s unwavering support of charitable causes included her dedicated contributions to the Red Cross and Brandon House, and she held a life-long membership with Depauw United Methodist Church, where she gave her time in every possible volunteer capacity.
Vivian is survived by her loving children: Trinette Sullivan, Trinler (Jackie) McCulloch, Traci (David) Carroll, Pamela (Norman) Stephens, Barbara McCulloch, and Christopher (Alice) McCulloch. Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren: Ashley (Andrew) Smith, Chelsea (Ryan) Mull, Ryan (Alex) McCulloch, Adrienne (Daniel) Bani, Devon (Maegan) McCulloch, Jordan (Meghan) Carroll, Melanie Gullett Case, Collin (Taylor) McCulloch, Megan Gullett Naville, Elyse (Jeffrey) Stephens-Gregory, Williem McCulloch, and Matthew McCulloch; along with 16 great-grandchildren who will carry forth her spirit of love and generosity. She is also survived by her siblings, Gary (Betty) Kitterman, William (Bernice) Kitterman, Kevin Kitterman, and Leland Kitterman.
She is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Willie Kitterman and Geneva Fulkerson Kitterman; and her siblings Juanita Combs, Joyce Mattingly, Rosalie Hoback, Dale Kitterman, Randall Kitterman, Anthony Kitterman, and Kathy Kerns.
Vivian Jeanette Kitterman McCulloch leaves behind a profound legacy, filled with stories of compassion and tireless service. She will be remembered not only for her many accomplishments but for the light she brought into the lives of her family, friends, and community. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.
Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany). Her Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am on Friday, October 18, 2024 at DePauw Memorial United Methodist Church (925 Vincennes Street, New Albany).
