Vivian McGuffey Lyninger, 91, of Louisville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2020.
She was born on March 20, 1929 in Louisville, KY to the late Homer and Effie McGuffey. She is also preceded in death by her husband Forrest Lyninger, Sr. and sisters Margie McKinney and Carrie Musselman.
Vivian retired from United Mine Workers Health and Retirement Funds after 17 1/2 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Middletown, KY and attended Nazareth College. She was a Worthy Matron and life member of 50+ years, Queen Esther Chapter #1 Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Zachary Taylor American Legion Auxiliary Unit 0180 and a Kentucky Colonel.
Vivian is survived by her loving children: Forrest Lyninger, Jr. (Robin), Rev. David R. Lyninger (DeAnna), Lisa A. Smithee (Chris), grandchildren Eric Lyninger (Shannon), Ryan Lyninger and Amy Fetter (Keith), Mallory, Allison and Hunter Smithee, Jonathan and LeeAnn Lyninger, great-grandchildren Noah and Luke Lyninger as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive Louisville, KY 40243) with burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.
