Virginia "Ginny" Starnes, 97, of Louisville, Kentucky slipped away to heaven on November 29, 2025. Virginia was born in Kokomo, Indiana on July 20, 1928 to the late Arthur and Irene McFarland.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Starnes and her brother, Warren McFarland. Arvil and Virginia maintained a loving and supportive marriage of 66 years until Arvil's passing in 2014.

She is survived by four children: Dan Starnes (Pamela), Eric Starnes (Sahndra), Ruthanne Nava and Susan Keen, 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.

Virginia was a loving mother, dedicated pastor's wife, school teacher, gifted pianist, and avid reader. She loved to play Scrabble and Password, and enjoyed solving the daily newspaper crossword puzzle and assembling jigsaw puzzles.

Virginia graduated from Asbury College in 1950 with a Bachelor of Music degree.

The family thanks the staff of Wesley Manor, Norton Audubon Hospital and Hosparus Health Louisville for the compassionate care they provided to Virginia.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 3 p.m. at the New Cut Road Baptist Church, 5857 New Cut Road, Louisville, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Tunnels To Towers Foundation.
