Virginia "Ginny" Elias Matheny, long time resident of Danville and Lexington, Kentucky, passed away on March 13, 2017.
She was retired from KY Utilities Company in Lexington. Ginny graduated from Charleston High School in West Virginia and attended the University of Cincinnati. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always cheerful and welcoming to all.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Elias.
Ginny is survived by her daughter, Meg Matheny of Louisville, KY; and son, Dan Matheny (Kim) of The Woodlands, TX; grandsons, Mason and Jackson Matheny; brother, Robert J. Elias (Kathy) of Sarasota, FL; niece, Katie Soobrian (Andy); and nephew, Rob Elias (Nicole).
A private graveside service will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens in South Charleston, West Virginia, at a later date.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
