Virgil Lee Taylor, 81, of Memphis, Indiana, passed away on Saturday evening, November 9, 2019. He had an incredible work ethic and was the owner of Taylor Heating & Air Conditioning. Virgil enjoyed working, fishing and playing cards with his brothers.

He was born on March 9, 1938 in Clark County, Indiana, to the late Elmer and Margarete (Townsend) Taylor. Virgil was also preceded in death by his son, Virgil Taylor, Jr.; siblings, Norman, Donnie, Tom, Bruce Taylor, Rose Feeler and Laura Barker.

Virgil is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda (Hardy) Taylor; children, Theresa Shuck, Gwen Griggs (Gary), Jane Taylor, Penny Taylor, Chris Beck (Candie); brothers, Robert and Paul Taylor; sister, Carol Jones (David); ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen following Virgil's wishes. A reception of family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany) and on Saturday after 9:00 a.m. His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday in the chapel at the funeral home.
