Vincent Wallace

Vincent Maurice Wallace, 74, passed away September 20, 2026 in New Albany, Indiana.

Born on March 24, 1952, in Louisville, Kentucky, Vincent was the son of Junior Clay Wallace and Gwendolyn "Gen" R. Hadley. Johnny S. Hadley became an integral part of his upbringing after marrying Gen in 1957. Though a long-time resident of Louisville, Vincent spent his teenage years in Detroit, Michigan, where he attended Pershing High School.

As a young adult during the Vietnam War era, Vincent proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps before receiving an honorable discharge. Over the years, he was a dedicated worker across several industries, holding positions with Philip Morris, Ford Motor Co., and A.D. Porter & Sons Funeral Home.

Vincent was a faithful and active member of St. James Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Allen Evans, regularly attending Bible study until his health declined. A man anchored by his faith, his favorite Scripture was Romans 12:1-2

A person of many passions, Vincent—known to many as "Blue," or as he referred to himself, "Vinnie with Plenty"—was happiest when writing poetry, singing, and fishing. "Blue" was a big fan of cowboy movies and The First 48. Vincent will be remembered for his winning smile, the stories he would tell, and his philosophies on life, love, and living. He was also quick to let others know who his "ultimate supervisor" was when he referred to God as "the Boss with the hot sauce!"

Vincent is survived by his daughter, Angelia Wallace Taylor; four granddaughters: Tyler Harris, Ashley Harris, Trinity Taylor, and Ahmya Harris; his sister, Gwenyth Pride (Bertram); and his brother, Shawn Hadley (Judith). He is also survived by his aunts, Alma J. Reed and Queenie E. Reed; a devoted cousin, Jimmy Cox, who offered steadfast support through many of life's transitions; as well as a host of beloved nieces and nephews: Angela Slater, Gregory Hadley, LaRue Livingston, Amber Coleman, Shawn Hadley II, Bianca Hadley, Welton Pride, and Hadley Pride.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dante Brame; his granddaughter, Asia Brame; his parents, Johnny S. and Gwendolyn R. Hadley; his biological father, Junior Clay Wallace; his maternal grandparents, Alvin G. and Mattie R. Reed; his sisters, Jacquelyn Slater, Sandra Hadley, Deborah W. Coleman and Beryl C. Hadley; his uncle, Alvin "Bud" Reed; and his cousins, Ester "Cookie" Reed and Brian C. Reed.

A visitation will be held on 3 October, 2026 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, located at 10304 Dixie Highway, Louisville, Kentucky 40272. The Service will follow directly after at the same location.
