Vina Elizabeth Grubs

Vina Elizabeth "Bessie" Grubs, 91, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, December 2, 2017. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on July 6, 1926 to the late Lonzo and Melvina Epperson.

In addition to her parents, Bessie was preceded in death by sons, Jesse Grubs, Jr., James R. Grubs, Kenneth H. Grubs; brother, James Epperson; sisters, Nellie Lawerence and Viola Devine.

Bessie is survived by her beloved husband of 71 years, Jesse Grubs, Sr., daughters, Sharon E. (Roger) Mills, Cathy (Abe) Mills, Brenda M. (Rick) Estes, Janice (Kevin) Watts, Thelma (Tommy) Rath and Wilma Grubs; eleven grandsons; four granddaughters; sixteen great-grandsons; eight great-granddaughters; two great-great grandsons; one great-great granddaughter; and one on the way; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and friends to mourn her passing.

A celebration of Bessie's life and funeral ceremony will be 11:00 am Friday, December 8, 2017 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions Southwest Louisville Chapel. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 7, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, Kentucky 40272.
