Vickie Lynn (Caraway) Franklin

Vickie Lynn (Caraway) Franklin, age 74, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. Born on August 8, 1951, on her family’s farm in Borden, Indiana, Vickie lived a life marked by compassion and devotion to others.

A devoted member of Christ Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church for many years, Vickie and her late husband, John “Rick” Franklin, shared a deep commitment to their faith. Together, they actively participated in church camps and hospital ministries, dedicating themselves to serving their community with kindness and selflessness.

Vickie was known for her generous spirit and her constant desire to help those in need. In her later years, she found joy as a resident at Yellowwood Terrace in Clarksville, where she enjoyed socializing and eagerly looked forward to playing bingo.

Her family was central to her life. She is survived by her children, Mike Franklin (Kristina) and Lorinda Franklin; grandchildren Addison, Colton, Christian, Lexington, Misty, Kimberly, and Tabitha; as well as seven great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Doug Caraway, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

She was the daughter of Joseph and Wilma (Crabb) Caraway. Along with her parents, Vickie was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, John “Rick” Franklin, and her brothers, Chuck, Richard, and Larry Caraway, and sister Linda Shoots-Hamlin.

A visitation to honor Vickie’s memory will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, located at 3309 Ballard Lane, New Albany. Her funeral service will commence at 2:00 p.m. the same day. Vickie will be laid to rest privately at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park.
